18 Hand processed, cared for and thought about black and white images.
The experience of shooting in such an alien environment gave me a great insight into photography. It was great to see somewhere as a complete unknowledgeable outsider, and to see somewhere completely fresh rather than the normal and expected.
Shooting on film made me think about the images more. I knew I would spend a lot of time and effort processing and scanning the images, so I only took images that I was confident would be a sucess, rather than the usual happy snapping digital method of taking as many as you want and breezing through to find the best ones. It is a far better approach to image making and one I shall try to use more often.

I just got back from a 2 1/2 week trip to Shanghai, China.
I photographed from the slums to the expensive high-rise bars, and got a good feel for what Shanghai is all about, and took some photographs that I will be very pleased with

When I get the time to hand-process 12 rolls of black and white film and scan them.

So keep watching, a journal will pop up, and there will be many many new photographs

I decided to stay on DA, because of the ammount of pageviews and many favs i've got through it. I am also on Flickr, but my main site will stay as this DA for now

I took a recent trip to Lower Lydbrook in Gloucestershire and accidentaly discovered the local abandoned cable works.
I went back the next week with my sigma 10-20 (brilliant lens for urbex) and spent a few hours photographing the weird old buildings and warehouses... the results are below, if you like urbex or urban photography, check them out!
